A Break from Quilting

I won this totally cool wood burning tool set from Cindy at DIY Beautify and it came with this beautiful cutting board!  So I just had to try it out!!!  My step-son is getting married in October and there just happens to be a wedding shower for the beautiful bride tomorrow...so I had to try out the wood burning on the cutting board as a gift for them.  She just happens to love to cook and bake, so giving her gifts is easy.
The wood burning set came with the alphabet so the letters weren't too hard - just hard to figure out how hot the tip was and how long I needed to leave it on the board.  I am definitely better at quilting then wood burning, but this isn't too awful for a first try.  I hope they will use it often during their long and happy marriage!

Thank you so much, Cindy - I love the wood burning set!!!

Yay, I'm glad you got to use your kit already, I think you did a fabulous first job! I'm sure it will get easier the more you use it ☺

I think you did a great job. I love the abbreviation of established to show the year of marriage. =) Nice win! I loved wood burning when I was younger, and even used the tool to make quilting stencils. ;)

I once had a go at wood burning and almost set the place on fire!!!!! DH then did the work and he was really good at it, needless to say I have not tried since. I don't do very well with these types of crafts; if I use the gluegun it ends up everywhere and do you remember the 80's when every one had curly hair? Well I did and I used to get the curls with a curling iron and I can't tell you the amount of times I burnt the tops of my ears!!!!!! I will stick to sewing! SO far I haven't managed to do anything bad with that!!!!!!! Hugs, Susie xx
